Thank you Anna !

27th Aug 2011

Congratulations to all of us for achieving what we have achieved today with the help of Anna. From being arm chair critics of our system, silently towing the line of the corrupt by regularly giving bribes to ‘get our work done’ we rose to siege the opportunity provided by Anna. We stood up, we united and we made it more than clear to our leaders that nothing less than a strong Lok Pal would do.

Anna says only half the battle is won. Rightly so - after all, it has always been against the law to take and give bribes! Hence, in addition to having a strong Lok Pal law, we will have to be active participants in making sure that the law of Lok Pal is not broken. As a by product of this movement we are on our way to becoming a more conscientious society. We will not tolerate corruption anymore. We will have the conviction to stand up for the right. That is an important resolve Indians are making today and this is the resolve that will go hand in hand with Jan Lok Pal bill to fight the menace of corruption.

This is also a good time to think about - How did we come to be in such a situation (we are among the top most corrupt nations of the world)? What are the other reforms that are needed to get to the path of true progress and development? We surely understand the power of politics and parliament now. Shouldn’t the cleanest and the brightest be in the parliament. Then why is that not so ? When will YOU consider joining politics? How will the cleanest and the brightest become electable?

Let us all rejoice in this commendable achievement for now. We fully deserve it. And then continue to be engaged, with the same conviction, in completing the unfinished task of brining answers to some of the above questions.

Happy Independence Day !

15th Aug 2011

Wishing you a very Happy Independence Day. 64 years back we got independence from an Imperial rule and after 64 years, our nation is in the midst of another kind of fight- a fight against our own people and our own system; a system which is holding us back, a system which has resulted in more than 40% of our citizens still living below the poverty line and majority of our children still having no access to a decent education. I know we will win this fight too. So let us give our full support and be one in this fight against corruption.

We WON !

15th May 2011

"We have finished an important milestone for Gurgaon. We have elected the representatives for Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon for the first time from 35 wards.

I am thankful for the confidence Ward 30 citizens have shown in me. I am happy for the opportunity to serve as a councillor. I am happy for an opportunity to bring about change. I am committed to bring transparency and accountability. I look forward to work together with the citizens and citizen groups to bring about best solutions to our issues. I am committed to do everything possible to make Ward 30 the cleanest and greenest in Gurgaon.

I want to thank the volunteers and supporters who believed in me and worked hard on my campaign. Over last 6 months, I have met several people who are experts in various aspects of running the city. I will continue to seek experts' help to come up with creative solutions.

Last but not least, I urge all citizens to stay engaged in the matters of our city/ward. We have a great opportunity to leave our city in a better position for our children than what was given to us. Let's work together and set an example for rest of India.

Thank you."
